Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master the talented storyteller has kept viewers on edge with extensive world-building, a wide array of characters, and a thrilling plot showcasing divine entities, demons, and malevolent powers growing in influence within the urban setting.
Heads-up: Key plot points for the third episode of this adventure lie ahead.
The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed
The third episode concluded with a dramatic pause and presented the initial group of characters who will split off from the primary party to undertake their separate journey, apart from the other two tables.
This warrior group consists of Teor (played by the voice actor), Thimble (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander (Sam), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).
The Reason for Division
With 13 cast members, it was evident from the beginning that having everyone at a single group would be unworkable.
That’s why, the initial installments of this story serve as an Overture, intertwining the individual narratives before dividing into three separate parties: Soldiers, Schemers, and Questers.
Characteristics of the Warrior Group
As described by the DM, the warrior group is for participants who enjoy a traditionally charged battle-oriented story mode where diplomatic options are scarce.
Initially, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might appear out of place, but the developments of the third episode show why these particular heroes are best suited for the combat party.
Reasons to Leave
For one thing, the team knows exactly where to proceed after a intense first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose death started the narrative’s action—manipulated the foes for his selfish purposes, breaking into the secret base, assaulting the character, and swiping all the magical artifacts to sell off.
Casimir then cleared his debts and ran away to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond Dol-Makjar, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each character has a specific drive to leave the city the urban setting:
- Thimble, as the companion and best friend, desires vengeance.
- Kattigan is familiar with the region and cautions that it is a nasty location.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having disobeyed his relatives’ demands to kill Teor and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
- But, their position as key figures in House Halovar could enable the team enter places they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Additionally, The fighter pledged a eternal obligation to The cleric for his rescue and will now accompany him everywhere.
Fugitives
Finally, all of them are wanted by the rulers that govern the setting for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally too risky:
- The agile adventurer and The character are notorious outlaws.
- Tyranny and Wicander betrayed the influential house and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- Teor is wanted dead by the clan.
This leaves them no alternative but to travel to the northern region in pursuit of the traitor.
What’s Next?
According to the recent installment’s Cooldown, we find out that the Soldiers table will be absent in the upcoming installment, leaving the remaining eight participants to assemble the Questers and Planners parties.
Audiences can expect learning which adventurers will be assigned to which table in Campaign 4’s final introductory chapter, released on October 24.
